Reading: Finish reading chapter 1. Students received new books today for reading groups. Students are reading historical fiction which goes along with their nonfiction essays. Students are reading Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder and Indian Captive.
They are to respond to their reading by answering the question: How does the setting affect what happens in the story? How does the character respond to what happens?
