Students worked really hard on their NWEA's for math today!  Great job grade 4!

Writing: Students should work on their opinion writing. They should have two paragraphs done at this point. I put information of what should be included in those paragraphs on yesterday's post.

Writing: Students are working on an opinion writing~ They should have their introduction and first paragraph done which includes:
1st paragraph:    A catchy lead (like a question or short or quick story)
Background information about their topic  (What is happening right now?)
Their opinion + three reasons ~~ For example some students choose being able to listen to music so they should write their opinion and three reasons in their last paragraph.  ~~~ ( I feel students should be able to listen to music because it will help them focus, the classroom will be quieter, and students will get more work done.)

2nd paragraph ~ Topic sentence should be their first reasons.  Then they need support for their reasons such as their own experience, information from an expert, (They all printed off two articles about their topic) or from a friend they have asked.

Reading: Read for 1/2 hour

Spelling: Finish the second page ~ Study those words for Friday~
We are working with words with the soft g sound  /j/
badge, dodge, edge, ridge, bridge, hedge, judge, gem, baggage, range, package, cottage, gentle, strange, cabbage, village, gym, rigid, engine, gigantic
