Social Studies - Interview Questions

Interview For Chapter 9

You will be working in a group to present to the class what a person’s day was like during Ancient Egyptian Times.  You will get a chance to draw what social class you will be presenting to the class.

Two students will take the role of a person from one of the social classes. Your job is to know what your role would have been if you were alive during Ancient Egyptian times during the New Kingdom (1600 to 1100 BCE). You will be responsible for answering  8 - 10 questions about your position, role, and jobs during this time. Two other students will be responsible for asking the questions.

As a team, you will write interview questions and practice asking and answering them as if it was a true interview you might see on television.  You may want to watch an interview on TV to get a sense of audience and presence of the interviewer and interviewee.  Remember to try to ask questions in a way that makes the audience feel it is during that time period.

You will be scored on content and delivery

____  At least 8 facts

____ Questions were relevant for that time period

____ Questions were appropriate and meaningful

____ Asked open ended questions and thought provoking questions

____  Voice was loud enough for audience to hear

____ Acted responsibly - not fidgeting, looked at audience

____ Rate of speaking was not too fast or too slow - just right

____ You articulated your words so people could understand

____ Worked cooperatively in your group

_____ Everyone helped write the questions

_____ Questions and answers were on separate notecards
