Reading: Reading for 1/2 hour

Writing: 4S - Continue to add to writer's notebook for times when you were excited about something!

Add small moment stories to other categories such as: First time, last time, and 3 people you do something with

For example: First time water skiiing, first time playing soccer, first time playing an instrument, first time on a plane!


Spelling: We are on Unit 3 - finish third page

Reading: Students should be reading for a 1/2 hour every night!

Writing: Students should be adding to their writer's notebook! They all know what to do!

Spelling: Mr. Nickerson's class did not have spelling today because of NWEA's.
Mrs. Sprague's class needs to finish 1st page

Writing:
Students should be continuing to add small moment stories in their writer's notebook.  Many students need to continue to add to them.  They should have 4 or 5 small moment stories under the three people they have chosen. They also need 4 to 5 small moment stories under the headings First time, Last time, and a time they realized something.

Reading: Read for 1/2 hour

Spelling: Study Unit 2 words - spelling quiz tomorrow

We are off to a good start this week. Students are generating ideas for their personal narrative they will be starting soon!

Homework: Continue writing in your writer's notebook

WRITING:  List people or animal that you may have a special memory with.
Write small moment stories under the person or animal's name

YOU are to list at least 4 to 5 small moment stories under each name

Mr. Nickerson's class also started listing first times and last times they have done something.


READING:  READ FOR 1/2 HOUR

Wednesday has been a great day! Fourth graders wrote an on demand narrative writing. We will soon be starting our narrative writing unit and this on demand writing will give me a snapshot of what students are able to do and need to learn.

There will be a spelling test on Friday over the Unit 1 Words!

September 11

We are off to an amazing Monday!  Students are working on reading responses and analyzing a character in a Tall Tale.  We are also learning how to use Google Docs!  The students are excited to be able to type and share their document with me.  Students will be posting what they have written soon!


Students will have a quiz on Unit 1 Spelling words on Friday.   They should also be reading for at least a 1/2 hour every night!  


In Social Studies we are starting to learn all the features of a map, and we started out learning two important words. (latitude and longitude)
