Don't forget a bag lunch tomorrow! We are going to release the salmon and go to Green Lake Fish Hatchery!  

Reading: Read for 1/2 hour

Spelling: Unit 26 ~  Objective: Read, spell, and write words with prefixes, un, re, and pre

unlucky, review, preschool, unfair, reheat, prepay, untie, recover, preview, unhappy, rewrite, pretest, rebuild, uncover, recheck, unlock, preheat, unsafe, reread, unpack

Students need to do the first or second page in spelling. Some did the first page on Monday.

Important Upcoming dates

On Wednesday, May 1, students will need a bag lunch for the field trip to Green Lake Fish Hatchery and we will be releasing the alevin into the Penobsot River. We should be back around 1:00. 

They will also need a drink and jacket.  


On May 9th at 5:30 students will be sharing their monologues and pretending they are that person!  They will need an outfit that fits the person. If you need any help finding something please let me know and I will look as well.

Writing: Students are working on taking notes about the person they chose to read about.

Spelling: We did not get to the spelling quiz today, so students will have an extra day to study their spelling words.  (Unit 25) Students were working really hard on taking notes and writing about the person they chose to read about so we will have the spelling quiz tomorrow.

Social Studies: Quiz over the midwest~ Students studied with a partner today by playing a Jeopardy game. Students also presented their Mt. Rushmore slide shows.

Writing: Students should be taking notes on the person they are reading about. Students should have 2 to 3 pages of notes so they have enough information to write about their person.

Timeline for Wax Museum:
April 1 Decided on Person
April 24 - Notes are finished
April 30 - Rough draft of paper
May 3 - Evidence of having practiced - practice speech
May 7 - Back board is finished - dress rehearsal with your group
May 8 - Practice again
May 9 - Wax Museum Day

Our Wax Museum will be on May 9th, at 5:30. Students can come dressed as their person and should arrive 15 minutes early.

Reading: 1/2 hour
Continue to take notes on the person you have chosen for the Biography Wax Museum. Students were given two graphic organizers to take notes on.  They will be pretending to be this person on May 9th at 5:30.  Maybe over the break they could try to find what they might wear for that night.

We would like to serve cookies and fruit on the same night. If you could bring in a batch of cookies or a little fruit could you let me know? 

Writing: Students could work on the prompt they had last week which was if you were going on trip and could only bring three things in your suitcase what would it be? Where would you go?  Make sure to have reasons to support why you would bring each item and how you would use them.

Introduction- Where are you going? What will you bring with you?

2 paragraph - What is the first item on your list and how will you use it? Remember to add detail!

3 paragraph - What is the second item and how will you use it? (details)

4th paragraph ~ What is your third item and how will you use it?

5th paragraph ~ How did your trip end up?

We did not get to spelling!

Spelling: Study the words for Unit 23! There will be a quiz tomorrow!

Math: Students are learning long division using the traditional method.  Some have gotten the concept and some still need more practice and support. They will have a sheet to work on for homework.

Reading: Read for 1/2 hour  Students need to choose a biography to read about a person who has made a positive and significant impact on our country or world.  We will be having a Wax Museum on May 9th where students will be pretending to be that person. If possible could you help your child to think about clothes he/she could wear to look like their person they have chosen.

Spelling: Unit 23 ~ We are learning about different homophones.  Homophones are words that sound the same but have different spellings and meanings.
