Reading: Morning reading group - Jump Ship to Freedom - Finish reading chapter 9 - Make an inference based on what happens in the chapter and provide evidence for the inference. For example, What do you think Daniel will do next based on what happens in this chapter? Provide evidence to support your answer.

What might be a question you are left wondering after reading the chapter?

Then summarize in a paragraph the major events in the chapter.

May 13 Homework

Jump Ship To Freedom - Read up through Chapter 8. (Same as yesterday)  You will need to do three responses from the worksheet that was handed out on Monday. Remember an inference is made by looking at clues. You are to write a well written responses by making an inference about something that happens in chapter 8. This could be about a decision Daniel has made, how he is treated or by another character, etc.

You also need to come up with at least two questions after reading this chapter.  Make sure to use clues from the chapter.

Book Review - Should have at least 4 paragraphs with evidence from the novel
Rodman Philbrick has some helpful hints for writing a book review. Check it to see if there are elements you could add in your review.  After reading some of your reviews, I think you may want a paragraph describing the main character or maybe the antagonist in the story.
