Writing: Add to animal poem you are writing ~ Think about the poem we read by Valerie Worth and Jack's poem about his dog
By Valerie Worth
Dog
Under a maple tree
The dog lies down,
Lolls his limp
Tongue, yawns,
Rests his long chin
Carefully between
Front paws,
Looks up, alert;
Chops, with heavy
Jaws, at a slow fly,
Blinks, rolls
On his side,
Sighs, closes
His eyes: sleeps
All afternoon
In his loose skin.
Social Studies: Study important landforms and bodies of water of the United States. (landforms we have studying are Appalachian Mountains, Rocky Mountains, Central Plains, Bodies of water include the great lakes: Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, and Lake Heron, Atlantic & Pacific Oceans, and the Gulf of Mexico. Writing: Students need to add to their writer's notebook. Many students have completed this in class, but if they need more time then can work on it for homework. They are listing people that are important to them, and underneath that person they are to list 3 to 5 short moment stories. This is a sentence explaining what could possibly lead to a story they want to write about. They don't have to write the story!!!!
