Reading: 6W - Read Tall Tale - Paul Bunyan - Do Book Nook story - choose two questions

6S & 6W - The Book Nooks should be a response over two questions. Responses need to be at least a paragraph in length. Make sure to add details from the story in your responses. Please try to write as neatly as possible so Mrs. Sprague can read them.


6S- Read for 1/2 hour and do book nook -
Language Arts: Write down 5 new topics for an argumentative writing

Math: Page 92

Homework November 29

On Thursday, December 1, students will be going to the Grand to see the play, The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe. We will be leaving in the morning around 9:00 and returning at 11:30.

6S Reading: Finish reading the Tall Tale Paul Bunyan and do Book Nooks -(Respond to two questions - should be a paragraph in length) Also list the extreme exaggeration in the story.

6W - Read for at least a 1/2 hour and do 2 questions for Book Nook - You need to add details from the story in your responses. Should be at least a paragraph for each question. Try to do your best handwriting so Mrs. Sprague can read it. One last reminder - Please write in complete sentences and punctuate where needed.

Math: Color butterfly to show symmetry!

Don't forget to work on reading goal! Trimester ends Dec. 2!

Parent - Teacher Conferences are going really well. It has been great to meet and discuss your child's progress!

Homework: Read for at least 1/2 hour and respond to two questions. (Book Nooks) Remember to write at least a paragraph for each response. Try to pick questions that best fit where you are in your book!

ELA: If students have the internet I want them to visit the sixth grade blog. I shared with them a narrative and places they can go if they get stuck writing their narrative. There are many samples of narratives on the left hand side of the blog.

I want them to get used to using that resource!

4th Annual Food Drive

It's that time of year again! We are looking for donations of nonperishable canned and boxed goods to benefit the Loaves and Fishes food pantry. We will be collecting food from Novemver 1st - November 15th. The class that collects the most food items will be going by bus to help deliver the food to the pantry. We appreciate your donations. Thank You!!

Web ideas for 2nd narrative - who ? what ? when? where? why? How? What did you see? What did you hear? What did you feel? taste? smell?

Read for 1/2 hour- Your reading strategies are based on the reading you do at home. So after you read for 1/2 hour choose two reading strategies and explain how you used them in your writer's notebook.

Study for Spelling Test (Only 5 words so if you study you should get 100) Practice those tricky parts!

Post Cards Have Been Sent

The sixth graders have worked really hard sending post cards to all of the other states. We finally have mission accomplished. The students are also enjoying learning about all the other states. If you get a chance ask your son or daughter what they have learned about the other states. We have learned some interesting facts!
